Congratulations Barry!

Barry House completed the Green Bay Marathon in 5:09!

I heard Barry was so out of it that he was actually signing "Bear Down Chicago Bears" as he ran through Lambeau Field!

Congratulations Barry on a wonderful accomplishment! It almost makes me want to train for another marathon...almost!

Check out Barry's blog about training this marathon at:

No, no, you heard it wrong. I was singing "Beat Down Chicago Bears" as I went around Lambeau.

Easy mistake to make.

Thanks for all the good wishes and kind words. This marathon was a humbling experience, but I am really glad I did it!

Barry I followed you throughout the whole morning! I loved how they had your estimated times at each mile mark! I jumped up for joy when you crossed the line! It was like I was right next to you!!!

Emily K and Mike B--

Thanks a bunch--you guys ROCK! Mike, everyone in Pike County wonders why I didn't just drive the car if I wanted to go 26 miles. LOL!

Hey, everyone needs to know that a couple other HalfWits ran their first marathon at Green Bay. Travis Martinsen and Gelila Tadesse finished in 4:29:30, which is impressive enough. But that time includes the time they spent waiting for a train to go by! A Canadian National freight train crossed the route at 10:50 Sunday morning.

Travis and Gelila are the couple that often brought their big yellow dog on Saturday runs. Congrats to them!

Wow!

It constantly amazes me that races of this magnitude actually cross railroad tracks! One of the major reasons that the LM is this configuration through downtown is that we use the only two railroad underpasses available.
