HalfWits are Ready to Race!!

What an awesome crew of HalfWits who hit the streets on Saturday as we ran the LM course! There were so many runners that people downtown probably thought the race was actually happening yesterday!

Congratulations to everyone who made it through this training run. Even though the wind was kind of tough as we ran north, it really was not a bad day for running. And it beats being out on the old rural course in this kind of weather (or any weather for that matter!).

That was the first time I had actually run the entire course at one time. I thought it is a great course. There is always something new along it, and the hills really are not THAT bad.

A huge shout-out to Tim McCaughey and Dwayne Blisset for marking the course--and Alan Avery for measuring and marking the miles--this week. They did a tremendous job. If anyone got lost out there yesterday, well, you weren't paying attention as the marks were at every turn! Thanks guys for marking it before this run.

Let's hear what you have to say. Was this the first time you had run the course? Are you ready for race day (I know you are!)?

Sorry I missed it but I was saving my IT Band for the race. I stayed home and ran 10 on flat land.

Good job HalfWits! I'll see you in 13 days!

Happy Easter!

Great crowd for Saturday's practice run. We started a little before 7:30 to accommodate an early morning commitment, so we missed Cafe Moxo. I'm sure it was great as usual.

I hope the weather for race day is a little bit better.

This was the first time I ran the course. I know what to expect now. Thanks to all who helped with the preparation of the run and the hydration stops. Great run turnout. See you all at the start/finish line in a couple of weeks.

Cafe Moxo was a great way to end the run. Their breakfast meal was awesome.

Penny, you rocked at the end.

The course was great! I really don't remember going up the huge hill behind Lincoln Park last year tho!! Perhaps by that point I was just delirious !

Chuck I'm glad to hear you are ready to go April 5th!

See you all on race day!!

Accelerade is a great call too. Will it be at the end of the race?

That gentleman on the left laying down has had me snickering for days! He stole my finish line pose!

Accelerade (all six stops) and Accel Gel (stop at mile 7.75) will be on the course.

Endurox, which is their recovery drink, will be in the corral at the finish area.
