ha ha ha...If I remember correctly, that day in front of everyone by the Grandstand, I got my car stuck in the snow as I was pulling in. Bad way to start the morning.

Oh how I remember that morning! Kim N, Carl, Steve Jones, Tim Mu and I did not do the Artic Amble that morning, but instead had done a different route. We were scheduled to run our long run for the SLM. We ran in snow that was literally knee deep! Oh and the wind blizzard that blistered our face! It truly was an Artic morning for all of us! Ugh!!!
But thanks for the "cool" picture Tim. It stayed in my mind the whole time this AM... Funny I didn't even break a sweat! HA!
BTW, great route for the opening of St. Charles. Nice to see people that are training for Chicago there too! What a great turnout! Thank you also for all of the water stops. Tim and Wendy, you're "LIKE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!" (I said that in my best valley girl voice) :)
PS: Cafe Moxo was wonderful! What a neat way to end the run and a great way to replenish with yummy fruits and veggies from the Farmers Market!
Sorry that we missed you guys this morning. We started early and then met Barry and the Abe's group. Nothing like running the Abe's course to keep a runner humble. All in all, a good run. Thanks so much to Barry for puting out the water and all his encouragement. You are great.

Thanks for the kind words, and Debi's right--running the Abe's course on a warm sticky morning is QUITE the humbling experience. Who designed that course anyway?
But it was quite encouraging to see the crews at the fairgrounds putting up tents and getting the place ready for opening day!

I look back and I think I'd take the hellish frost and snow over this 93% humidity!! Sorry I missed the group Sat. morn. I was in the Ozarks and just got back. Pam said it was a great turn out and alot of fun. Only she would run an 8:42 pace and call that fun! Ugh. Big 20 miles next Sat.
