Important Info for LM Runners!

A couple things I wanted to point out to LM runners this Saturday.

1. This race will be chip timed. Chips will be distributed only on Saturday morning (no Friday chip distribution). This allows the SRRC to reduce our liability for chips as well as ensuring that no runners forget their chip on race day. I would highly suggest you pick up your packet (bib, t-shirt, etc...) on Friday at packet pickup (4-7 pm, Dove Conference Center). This will ease things on Saturday morning and all you will have to do is grab your chip, which should be a very quick process.

If you have never run in a chip-timed race before...a chip is a small plastic piece with a computer chip in it. It attaches to your shoe laces with a plastic zip tie. You will pass over mats at the start and finish of the race which will record your chip...and therefore your time. Your race time won't start until you pass over the mat at the start.

2. PLEASE READ THE RACE INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION posted on the SRRC website. This is very important. Here is the link to that page:

3. And don't forget...run as proud Half Wits on Saturday and Kick Some Booty!!!

Wow--through all the wind, rain, snow, more snow, we finally made it to the STARTING LINE! Kudos to you, Tim, for encouraging us to start and organizing our runs for the past two and half months. This race is going to be special and there will be a lot of successful people at the finish line because of your devotion to the club and turning slogs into runners! Thanks for all your work for Half Wits and the race!

Parking will be available in the St. John's deck on Mason between 6th and 7th. There is also the Presidential Museum parking deck which is accessible from 5th or 6th streets. And the Horace Mann Lot has much surface parking

Additionally, there should be plenty of street parking available in the vicinity at that time in the morning.

As for chip pickup, it will be in the same location as packet pickup, at the Dove Conference Center in Prairie Heart Institute, 619 E. Mason Street (north side of Mason between 6th and 7th)
