Which half are you going to run?

While the Half Wits is geared towards the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon on March 31, there are several other half marathons this spring for which our folks are training.

Last year many of us ran Indy, and this year we are promoting the Madison Half Marathon as our out of town race. Madison is a great town and this race has really taken off the past few years. The best part is that you finish at Brat Fest! Yes, Brat Fest...run 13.1 miles then have a brat and a beer to celebrate! Just add some cheese and you'll have everything Wisconsin!

Madison is on Sunday, May 27. That's the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, so everyone can hang out in Madison on Sunday night to celebrate then head back to Springpatch on the holiday!

For more info on Madison, or to register for the race, click on the link on the right side of the blog.

Another race that several of us are planning to run is the St. Louis Half Marathon.

We need many people to volunteer for the LM half marathon, so if you want to volunteer but still get in a half marathon in the same time frame, St. Louis is a great race to run. It is run two weeks after the LM on Sunday, April 15. This race has really come into its own over the past few years and it is a great event that is not too far at all from Springfield. Check out the link to the right for more info or to register for this race.

If you want to run Indy but have not registered, you are pretty much SOL. Indy registration closes early. To those who are running Indy, have a great time. It is a wonderful event.

Any other half marathons that folks are running this spring?

Bill and I are planning to run the Deadwood Half Marathon (Deadwood, SD on June 3). Cool location, great training t-shirts, and a downhill course. What's not to love?

Ankle permitting, I will be running the Gasperilla Distance Classic Half in Tampa, Florida on February 18th.

Stephanie and Bill, give us an update when you successfully complete the course. Never heard of that one.

Anne,
Is there snow down there? If not, I can pack some for you so you wont forget whats it like here. :)
Good luck to you too! Give us a report.

Chuck, as long as it will fit into a 3 oz. bottle, I guess I could haul some snow down to Tampa. :)

If my ankle holds up, there will be a RR. If not, I'm just going to drink Hurricanes.
