UPDATE--Tuesday Night Session Cancelled!!

OK--since the person in the office next to me could not even make it out of the parking lot this afternoon, and since I see Half Wits posting about stuck cars, we are cancelling tonight's session.

Driving is very bad with this blizzard and I don't want anyone to get stranded on their way to/from the Half Wits. Plus, even I found it hard to drive in with my four-wheel drive truck when I went out at noon. And I would hate for some out-of-control car to run us over on the boulevard tonight.

We'll plan on Thursday for our next session

I just got done digging out the driveway with my son--it took the two of us an hour and a half--and it's a short driveway!

So I was gonna post a comment about being a wimp when I discover that the Half Wits are bowing to the weather. SHOCK!!!!

See ya Saturday. BTW, next week the temp is supposed to be in the 40s. HEAT WAVE!!

I got in the Half Wits workout this morning so while tonight's run was cancelled our HW streak is still alive. Thanks to the Park District plow that kept the boulevard clear for running the 1/2 mile repeats.

Barry - it's supposed to be 85 degrees next week - IN JAMAICA!!

btw - I just got in from 2 hours shoveling the driveway - it's like emptying a pool with a teaspoon - I'm recording this in my training log as CROSS TRAINING!

stay safe, halfwits!

Cross training...I like that!

I only had to help push two cars out of drifts on my way home this evening...and Wendy had the driveway cleared when I arrived home!!!

I missed you guys on Saturday. I had to work Obama security detail. Finally got my 9 on the treadmill. The snow sure is pretty, though. Roads are clear today, if you don't go snow blind! Beats looking at the basement walls!

I'm with you, Mary. 2 hours of shoveling 3 ft drifts just to get the car out. Doesn't help that hubby's got the flu, either. Now, I have to do it all over again today. Oh well. Burn off the Valentines Day chocolates!!

Can't wait til Arctic Abe's!! Yahoo!!

My new diet - chocolate and wine. Won't lose any weight, but I really won't care, now will I!

See y'all Saturday! I'm going to run in the snow on lunch tomorrow just to get ready for the ARTIC AMBLE!

Stay healthy, guys!

Hey - there are some great articles, etc., on www.runnersworld.com. There's an article about strengthening your six-pack (no, not miller lite): Abs. Just coming off of surgery - I was interested in finding ab exercises (so, I'm up to like, FIVE crunches, now :)). dThere are a lot of motivational articles, too, for beginning and advanced runners as well.

See y'all this weekend.

I have Mr. Abs laying on the end table. I mean the magazine of course. Yes your right. There are some good articles - once you get past the cover. Nice diet Mary. Is that white or dark choc. and white or red wine. Just want to make sure I stick to the right diet.

dark chocolate and red wine - the darker, the better.....- the colors coordinate quite nicely, I might add. Of course, if you want to ease into it, you could start with a little white zin and milk chocolate, but really, if you're going to do this, you might as well reap the antioxidant benefits.

But if you're prone to spills............LOL!
