Thank You, Volunteers!

I don't know how many Lincoln Memorial volunteers check this blog, but I want to extend a sincere Thank You to every one of them. I tried to thank them personally during the race, but I know I missed a few.

The weather was perfect for the runners, but it had to be really nasty for the volunteers staffing the water stops and the finish area. They kept up their good work right to the end and maintained a cheerful, positive attitude the whole time.

Great work, volunteers! Thanks again for being there!

Yes, a huge thank you to all the volunteers. Everyone was so encouraging, thanks for sticking it out to the end. I know it was cold and windy out in the open parts of the course, so nice to see some smiling faces during those last difficult miles!

Agree, we couldnt have had a great race and great time without those unsung heroes, from the registration process, hospitality, water/gatorade stands, managing traffic and the post race activities. Job well done!!!

To the the race directors too...
OUTSTANDING JOB Tammie and Tim McCaughey!!!

It was great to see such an outstanding crowd at the "Half Wits" Lincoln Memorial. Tim and Tammie & Tim did such a fine job of getting you ready and putting on a first class race. If you are unable to make the Tuesday or Thursday runs with the Half Wits, we will have a wide variety of the nicest runners, some of which were Half Wit members, meeting soon on Wednesdays in Washington Park. We will begin meeting at 5:30 at the picnic area. Official start date is April 19th, but if you are on the e-mail list, we may start on the 12th. Later we move to Springfield High track. All runners welcome, no charge.

Congratulations to all the runners, volunteers and sponsors of the Lincoln Memorial.

I have it on good authority that Jack's track sessions can help any runner. You don't have to be a speed demon to get something out of them.

Thank you Tim Butler. You provided such a wealth of knowledge, information and ideas for Tim and I. We would have been screwed without your help. Also, our amazing volunteers did a FANTASTIC job. It takes a ton of help from so many people to put on a race. So thank you to everybody, and we were thrilled to have so many participants. The half-wits are awesome!
