St. Pat's Parade Postponed--City Asks People to Volunteer

St. Pat's Day is one of my favorites, as is the Springfield parade. Due to the tornado and the strain on community resources at this time, the decision was made to postpone the annual St. Pat's parade until next Saturday, March 25.

Instead of attending or participating in the parade on the originally scheduled date this Saturday, the City is asking citizens to volunteer with cleanup this Saturday, March 18. So, if you want to volunteer after running our 13.1 miles, please call the City at either 789-2270 or 789-2216 and they will get you set up.

I'm glad all of you Springfield runners made it through the severe weather, last Sunday. My group of trail runnners will be clearing a lot of debris off of the trails for the next few weeks here in the KC area, too.

Happy trails,
Bad Ben

I was at the City's 3:00 pm briefing at the Emergency Operations Center. They have had over 500 people call to volunteer on Saturday and are expecting up to 1000. Way to go Springfield!
