Looks like the SRRC had a great crew of runners over in Decatur for Sunday's Shoreline Classic 5k & 15k.
Congrats to everyone who finished, especially all the folks who kept their Abe's Army training going through Advanced Abe's! That program is a great bridge to keep our Army "recruits" going after the Amble (hat tip to Gary Wessel for organizing the group!).
A big shout out also goes to race director Bruce Bennett for a job well done! Bruce has really tried to reach out the SRRC and other area clubs to enhance the Shoreline. He told me they had 675 entrants this year...up almost 200 from last year! When Bruce got involved in 2002 this race was at about 150 runners (and I think they even cancelled one year). Race directing is not always the most fun thing to do...but good directors like Bruce make our races a lot better!

the time to sit down and compose something. Which is kind of sad because

This was the first year I ran Shoreline and it was well worth it. They had the best atmosphere (with the music), great food, great shirts, and wonderful awards! I was very impressed with every aspect of the race. The course was just tough enough for that length. I'm glad it's on the SRRC series.

I emailed Bruce. I told him how much I loved his race! The whole running atmosphere was gorgeous, and the music at the pavilion and all over the course was great! It was very well organized!
Thanks Bruce! :)
