Yep...Tuesday is Tax Day. Did everyone file?
I will not be there Tuesday night, but we are back doing the hill routine for the Lincoln Avenue hill and the short, steep hill across from it.
Here is a link to the post on the blog from when we first did this workout.

I've seriously neglected this blog for no reason other than I haven't made
the time to sit down and compose something. Which is kind of sad because

Registration for Louisville is now closed.
Question for anyone who has recently run this race~ I hear that we run on the derby track. What kind of pavement is it? I am assuming that it's not dirt...

Holly,
I got word from a fellow Halfwit, Kathy Henke, who ran this race last year. This is her description:
The surface you are running is actually paved. You won't be running on the horse track itself. But, it is an awesome experience because they play recordings from races that make you feel like you are part of the action. There are some horses there and you run pretty close to the Winner's Circle in the middle of the track. Last year each runner also received a free ticket to Churchill Downs to be used either Saturday or Sunday. We went later in the day on Saturday. It was my family's first live horse race so that was cool, and the people watching is very good since there are all types of folks there, including ladies with big hats like in Pretty Woman.
Forget free tickets to Churchill Downs...what about free beer!? LOL!
This is going to be mucho fun!
Mint Juleps !!!
My bro Chuck and Penny Warden ran my first marathon with me in 2005 at Louisville. Then, we ran around the outsides of Churchill Downs. I am so excited that we will now run inside onto the track!!!
We did however go to Churchill Downs after the race. I couldn't walk very well, but going there was worth it. The horse races were so much fun!!! OH and the YUMMY mint juleps!!! Holly you'll love those!!! They made my legs numb! :)
Later on in the night we enjoyed the night life inside the city of Louisville. I couldn't remember where we had went, (I guess I had too much to drink!) but Tim B. found this awesome website of where we were in 2005!
It seems so much better now! WE WILL ALL HAVE A BLAST!!!! WHOOO HOOO LOUISVILLE!!!

I was just going to recommend 4th Street to everyone! Great minds think the same. I had dinner last night with a friend who used to live in Louisville and she highly recommended the area. Wonder how far it is from our hotel? Will search today.
