The Plan for Louisville, Indy, The Pig, etc...

OK...now that we have THAT race out of the way...

We will keep the Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday routine going through the Louisville Half Marathon on Saturday, April 26 (three weeks). This plan would also work well for those running Indy or the Flying Pig.

One change though...for our NEXT TWO SATURDAYS (4/12 & 4/19) I plan to have us run from Cafe Moxo downtown.

Our run this Saturday, April 12 will be 13+ miles, so make sure you get back into the long run state of mind!

The next Saturday, April 19 will probably be a run of 9-10 miles. For those doing Indy or the Pig instead of Louisville (both one week later than Lville) you may want to tack on a few extra miles that day as you will be two weeks out from your race.

We will be back at Washington Park this Tuesday, April 8, leaving the tennis court parking lot at 5:30 pm. Since most of you ran the LM yesterday, we won't be doing any hills or speed, just a straight run. We may switch it around and do some hills/speed on Thursday this week.

So, who all is going to what races?

I think we have a good crowd heading to Louisville. It will be fun!!!

Please let us know how that goes. That is the race I am leaning towards for next spring's out-of-town Half Wits half marathon.

If you have never visited the memorial there, it is quite a moving experience.

Thanks!

I'll be heading up to Libertyville for a trail marathon next weekend. It really is fun, and all solid footing: paved path like interurban or packed limestone.

Then Madison In May and Grandmas in June.

It was a great day Saturday. Thanks to Tim and all the volunteers!

I'll be running the Pig. It's hard to believe it's only a month away! Kathleen

I will let you know. The Oklahoma Marathon has the full, half, 5K and a walk for kids. So it's great for the entire family.

I agree, the Memorial is so touching and emotional. Even if you don't run this event, everyone should try and visit the memorial.

Mary R. and Penny - headed to Louisville for the FULL marathon and then to Cincinnatti for the Relay with Emily K. and Jill Steiner.

Anyone have dinner plans the night before in Louisville or Cincinnati we can squeeze in on?

btw - LM rocked! Thinking back to 2005 (my first LM) - wow, what a difference! Thanks to everyone involved from the planning stages to scooping my rear up off the finish line (no, not the bar stool at Sammy's....I was able to manage that on my own).

I am not worried about dinner the night before the race. I am worried about where we are going to go for dinner and drinking after the race.

Okay - I agree with you on that!

I had Chuck email one of his frat brothers that we met up with when we did the Louisville full in 2005. I haven't heard back from him yet... I think I will bug him again... Louisville has this strip of FUN bars in the downtown area. :)

I am excited for Louisville. Tim, do you know how many of us are going?
