Tuesday, February 12 is the 199th birthday for Springfield's favorite son and the namesake of our half marathon: Abraham Lincoln.
In honor of Abe's birthday on 2-12, I thought we would do a little different workout:
We'll do a warm up, take a quick rest, then pick up the pace for two light poles, walk for one light pole, then pick up the pace for two light poles (get it, 2-1-2?). We'll keep up the 2-1-2 routing until our rest/turn around point (see below).
WE WILL MEET AT THE WASHINGTON PARK TENNIS COURT PARKING LOT AT 5:30 PM and do a warm up east from the parking lot to MacArthur. From the north side of Williams Blvd at MacArthur, we'll run west back into the park for our 2-1-2 workout. When you get to the park exit leading out to Feldkamp (adjacent to the lower pond boardwalk), take a rest so everyone can gather up, then we'll head back to MacArthur with the same 2-1-2.
Back at MacArthur we'll see how everyone feels, and if we are good with it, we'll try it again.
Our cool down will be back to the tennis courts via the same route as the warm up.
Any questions?

I've seriously neglected this blog for no reason other than I haven't made
the time to sit down and compose something. Which is kind of sad because

A little chilly, but nice turnout and a nice workout. I'll remember my mittens next time.
