Resolution Solutions! This Wednesday, 4:30-7:00 pm

Everyone is invited to join us at Resolution Solutions this Wednesday at Prairie Heart Institute.

Here's the info on this FREE event:

If good health is one of your resolutions (and we know it is!), be sure to attend the Resolution Solutions event on January 9th (4:30pm - 7pm) at the Prairie Heart Institute, 619 E. Mason Street in Springfield.

Resolutions Solutions will provide hands-on education and training on fitness, nutrition and stress management. Participants can get their cholesterol, blood pressure and Body Mass Index checked and then visit with health and fitness professionals for tips on how to exercise better, eat better, and achieve optimal balance in life.

The event will include athletic trainers and exercise physiologists who will discuss and demonstrate low-impact exercises, training with a heart monitor and tips for sticking to a fitness schedule. Representatives from local health clubs will have special offers, while the Springfield Road Runners will offer tips on running.

Roberts Seafood will provide cooking demonstrations and Prairie Heart dietitians will share heart-healthy recipes and advice on deciphering nutrition labels.

If you're interested in achieving greater flexibility both mentally and physically, the event will feature yoga and tai chi demonstrations. Information on stress reduction classes and special discounts through Prairie's Center for Living will also be available.

Don't miss this excellent opportunity to start the New Year by putting your best foot forward on the journey toward running the Lincoln Memorial Half Marathon.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to Resolution Solutions last night. There was a great crowd and we had much interest in the Half Wits, the LM, and the SRRC.

Plus, I was able to get my cholesterol checked, and I am back under 200 (192)!

So cool Tim - me too.

Mine cholesterol has gone from 236 to 186 - all because of running and eating better. My blood pressure was down, my body fat and bmi - yep, all down.

I had a huge cheeseburger with bacon yesterday, too, before the screening. It's my favorite bad food and I don't get them very often. So I expected the body fat monitor to just say "moo"!

They did a great job!
