Sat. Morning 14 Miler

This Saturday we have an out and back route that has water stops along the way. Panera west to Fit Club to Washington Park to the YMCA and back. Mostly flat but added the Washington Park hill for a little challange. Who dosen't need a challange to make us stronger!!!!
The weather looks like 65-70 in the morning and getting hot by the afternoon. See you at 6:30

OK, you won't believe me after I ducked out of last week's run, but I'll see you tomorrow!

You see, Bill's birthday was last week and we thought "What's a few beers?" and then "What's a few pounds of salt?" and then "Why am I so thirsty? Let's have more beer."

Sigh. We did our run at 9:30, with me whining from mile 6 through 11.

That was funny! Happy belated b-day Bill. With the running crew, we all would have done the same thing. Im pretty confident on that assumption.

Hi Guys, hope you all had a great run. I'm home with an ear infection. Got home late last night from 6-flags and a Cardinal game (darn they won, almost gave it away though) I'm going to urgent care to get this thing fixed so I can make it to Taste of Springfield! See ya next weekend.

Great run everyone it was a hot one this morning. Hey anonymous (Pam) good excuse. Wendy and I ran with a cold but we were out there at 6:30. Just like your Mom told you when you were young...if your staying home sick from school then you can't go out at night so if your not going to run in the morning you can't go to Taste.

Next week we cut our run back to 10 miles and we will meet at IDOT to run the Lost Bridge Trail.
Again, good run today and will see everyone next Sat.

Good run all. It was hot out there. Thank you to Wendy, and Tim for getting me to the park. And Chuck and Trish for the company from the park to the Y and back. After, I split off from the group, to run back alone, it went down hill from there. There truly is something about the power of the group.

Have a good week.

Hey Debi - that's kinda funny 'cause I ran with my girlfriend up here in Lincoln. Since we've heard each other whine before - we didn't have anything else to distract us - no one new to complain to, though the lady at the Casey's kinda felt sorry for us and the deer in the park gave us one of those looks, like "What are you thinking?????"! We did 12 hot miles, started way too late in the morning, and are just glad to be DONE!

If anyone is interested, I'm running Lost Bridge after work on Thursday - I know it will be hot, but I gotta get my long run in before I go to the Ozarks (I have a feeling once I get on the lake - my choice of beverages will not be good fuel for running!) Any ten minute pace runners interested in getting the long run out of the way before the weekend about 4:30 or 5:00-ish on Thursday?

Good job all who got out there today - I miss February running and DEFINITELY the group!

A HOT one it was!

Just an FYI, I was at The Running Center this past week and they DO carry the water fuel belts. I believe theirs is a 4 water bottled fuel belt. One water bottle can hold at least one regular size bottle of water. It also has a nice size stretchable pouch attached to it.

It's amazing of all you can fit into it! Marie and Penny were laughing at me as I had Marie's keys, 4 gu packs, gummy bears, my mp3, and 2 packs of advill all in this pouch! Oh! And after I was done running, I found one of my kids inside of it too! Okay maybe not, but you get the picture! :)

Regardless, with weather like this, it is worth your thirst (and life!) to stay hydrated! :)

I heard it's good to run with a cold but not an ear infection (fever), so there Russ! I did get in 10 miles today and it was hot! Jack was on the run so I ran with him for a couple, that helped out.

I'm adding 4 miles to the IDOT trail run next week because I need to do a 14 miler that I missed yesterday. Anyone up for adding 4 miles to the 10? If not, I'll just add an extra 2 out past the trail.

I agree, Sat. was def. a hot one. I went through 6 bottles of fluids for 14.5 miles. You'd think I woulda' been water logged but I was still thirsty at the end.

Thanks Roger so much for keeping me company on the run. I hope you made it for your additional miles.

Sorry Russ I didn't run with you. My damn fuel belt fell off again and I couldn't catch ya. I guess I need to cut down on the pasta the night before and maybe it would fit better!!

I love seeing the Sat. group grow. There is always a pace for everyone to fall into in. That's what makes this group so versatile.

See ya all next Sat. for 10!

Hey Russ, I know you were planning the 10 miler for Idot trail but any chance of switching to a Washington Park route thru downtown and back to park?? This way we could see the guys in coconuts again. It was quite entertaining last year! Let us know.

Are there still folks planning to run a 10 miler on Sat? I know many people will be participating in some capacity at the Women's Distance Fest. Just wanting to see if there was still a definite plan to run 10 somewhere on Sat. morn.

I would run 8-10, if it was a very early A.M. run. I cant run afterwards because of the Golf outing that I will be playing.

Tim and I will be at the outing too. So, I definitely want to get my run in on Sat. morn. I know I won't want to do it on Sun.

Yes, I'm running Sat. morning. I will run 10 with you guys and then add 4 more miles because I missed the 14 miler last Sat. Are you guys planning on running at 6:30? The IDOT trail was the original plan for the 10 miler.

Hey Pam, I will run with the group, I only suggested to Russ that maybe we could incorporate the ending run into the women's distance. I also am not running it but thought it would be fun to meet at the race site afterwards. Doesn't really matter, just post the official route later on the week.

Thanks.
