Running plans for Independence Day?

If you are not heading to Jacksonville for the 5k, is anyone looking to get together for a run on Independence Day this Wednesday?

Wendy and I will be out of town that morning, but if anyone else is planning to run, let's hear about it in comments.

I'm going to a party Tuesday night so I won't be able to run early on the 4th. The marathon group is going to run 14 on Sat. at 6:30 a.m. from Panera. The route director should be posting it soon.

Thanks Tim for the quote about the holiday. Only about half the Americanpeople wanted revolution and half wanted to stay with England; so it was only by persistance and determination(like runners) that the rebels won the war and we became a free country.I keep a picture on my bulletin board at work with an army guy who lost both legs in Iraq. His dream was to run with the President. The picure is of him, with 2 false legs running with Bush on the White House grounds. It is an inspiration for me that this guy has a lot more handicaps than I do so I should never complain that running is hard or difficult. On this July 4th we should think of the men and women in Iraq that are there because their country told them to go ther. We can hate the war but we should love the warriors and support them.
