Hey Guys, Anybody out there? Things have been pretty quiet. How is everyone doing? I know I'm pretty nervous.

I had my first bad dream about the marathon. I woke up at 7:30 a.m. and Mary called me from the team tent and told me I missed the team picture. I remember looking down at my Ipod and it said "No battery" and it turned off. I looked for my running shoes and they were not there. I woke up and thought, I better start writing up my list on what to bring. I'm also bringing a portable alarm clock. Someone needs to call my room in the morning and please don't wait until you get to the team tent!

Wow, scary!!! Kind of like those test anxiety dreams from school days.

You will be just fine!

There was a study of Harvard graduates about 25 years ago that showed that only "A" students had those anxiety dreams after graduation. So you can probably infer from that study that only successful runners have stress dreams before a race.

Me, I sleep like a rock all the time.

I am absolutely IN AWE of all the Half Wits Gone Wild, and I'm not the only one. You guys are great!

"...looked down and realized I didn't have my race clothes on so immediately started frantically looking for shorts and shirt."

Kim,
You would have given the term "Half Wits Gone Wild" a similar meaning to the raunchy vids on late night t.v. =)

ZZZZZZZZZZ...ZZZZZuhh..ZZhuh WHAT? Hey, you guys woke me up with all your talk about crazy dreams! I was having a nice peaceful taper, too.

How was everyone's last long run? Mary F and I ran a chunk of the trail, 6:30, pitch black, eerie mist, critters rustlin' in the weeds. Kinda spooky! But you know, it was sort of bittersweet. I was sad to know this journey is almost over, but relieved to only have to try to keep up with Speedy Gonzalez for 8 miles (with a killer hangover). The only way I got her to stop for a minute was to start crying about my hamstrings. And she only stopped then because I threw a stick at her back, she was so far ahead of me. Should have left me for dead, Mary, fodder for the critters. Would have made a good Halloween story....Just kidding Mary, you know I love ya!

Hey, come to think of it, I had a scary marathon dream, too. In mine, Dr. Frankenstein melded my shin splints, Kim's stress fracture, Mary R's IT band, Mary F's bad toe, a few bruises, blisters and skin rashes to create one hideous, creaking, limping, howling HALF WIT! The thing was lumbering down Michigan, wreaking havoc and drinking all the beer!

What a nightmare....sweet dreams!

Jenni - I'm cracking up here - that's our new logo for next year - think we could get all that on a T-shirt? I had a couple of weird dreams, too - some I wouldn't dare tell all of you!

You know - if we didn't have 26.2 miles to run, I'd be kinda looking forward to a ChiTown kinda weekend!

Seriously - I'm jazzed, excited, and truthfully, just a little scared. But you know - we're in this together - no matter what. No one made us do this - we really thought we were signing up for a Girls Gone Wild video - not half wits....!

And Jenni - we're all there for each other aren't we! Good thing I had no energy to throw a stick at you that day - I was too busy looking for corncobs on my pit stops!

And if that damn monster drinks all the beer, I'm really going to be pissed off!

see ya soon!

Hey, at least you all are having dreams. I'm so stressed about the race that I can't get to sleep. I watched the video of the race and thought no way! I'm sure we will all do fine and have great stories about the race afterwards. But right now I need some sleep!

What about eating?? I'm getting so nervous it's difficult to stomach food! I know we will all get through this, but I wish the race was tomorrow.
