Lincoln Memorial--what you NEED TO know!

OK--what you need to know about post-race fun. Panera bagels will be served, along with some great chili, but it sounds like the fun might be in the parking lot...

Mary R said: Oh, and for afterward next Saturday? Anyone interested in bloody Mary's should meet me at my car afterwards.......But, since I'll have the keys, you'll just have to wait until I crawl over the finish line!

Kim (these boots were made for walkin!) said: And yes, I will be bringing a cooler with ice, a couple of bottles of champagne and some OJ. Mimosa is about all I can stomach after 13 miles. I have satellite radio so if anyone wants to party at the back of my mini-van - I will have the hatch open. All is welcome - just bring your choice of beverage. I will pick up some muffins to nibble on.

Sounds like we are going to have some fun celebrating the accomplishment of running 13.1 again! The Half Wits are sooooo cool!

Any plans or ideas for Saturday night? Let us know.

Probably my last blogging comments before the race.

So, here it goes...

I'll bring a couple of cases of beer to share too. I can only drink so many before the race - ROTFLOL!!! I hear it is a great post race recovery drink.

I'll be out Sat. night too! I would love to meet you all out somewhere. If your lucky, you might see my evil twin Hector.

How about after hours party at the Butlers house? (Opps, I could get into trouble for that suggestion) Or maybe...Anyone want to join me for late night grub? I'll be dining at La Bamba again at 2 a.m. It cures hangovers...I think! (Where is Mr. Ted's when you need it?)

Last but not least...
Half Wits you all are the bomb. I enjoyed meeting you all and Tim you DA MAN!!!

Some of us older Half Wits have great plans for Saturday night--icing down our knees and munching Advil. I live just about 4 miles from Bridgeview Park so come on over. Bring your own Advil!

Would hate to get you kicked out of Panther Creek! Sounds like fun though.

For those of us that feel unconfortable with all the drinking, I will bring some bottles of soda. I like to enjoy the high I get from running.

Amen to that!

Awhile back Tim planned a family get together for Saturday evening. I think he's regretting it with all the party talk. We'll be in the Peoria area Saturday night with the Butler family. But hey, the northend is always fun and we have a fenced back yard. Just don't set off the security system alarm!

I think the HalfWits family might almost trump the genetic family though. Such conflictions!

If there's too much post-race party we may have to hire a driver to get us to Peoria! Maybe Jimmie Johnson is available.

Good luck everyone!

Half Wits - It's been awesome! I used to think I hated running with other people, but man, did this group change my ideas. Everyone has been so damn cool!

As for Saturday, if you see me crouched down in the woods with a funny look on my face, don't wave or cause a big scene. I REALLY wish there were port-a-potties on the course!!

We've trained hard, let's show 'em what we've got!

I think we are all delirious from gearing up to the carb-loading! You guys are hilarious. Had I known running was this much fun, I would have started long before my mid-life crisis of turing 40!

Too bad I live out of town. They'll be just two HalfWits in Lincoln - me and Helen!

Does red wine or white wine go better with GU?

BTW - everyone ask Helen what librarian booktape is for...
