Indy Mini Post-Race Tent

As I discussed in a e-mail last week, we are planning to reserve a tent for Springfield-area runners in the post-race area at the Indy Mini. I believe we have about 200 area runners who are making the trek over to Indy for this race. After seeing the Running Club tent area last year, I believe is a great spot to meet up with your fellow runners after the race. We can also stock it with our favorite beverage or food...something you will certainly need to celebrate your accomplisment.

Anyway, the cost of the tent is $290. The SRRC Board of Directors is considering whether or not to pay this fee. The board should make a decision soon. Feel free to contact club president Jim Cinotto with your thoughts on this matter. Jim's e-mail is: james_cinotto@ilcb.uscourts.gov

Whether or not the club helps with the cost, I am planning to reserve a tent, so we can all celebrate after the race.

Wow, 200 area runners from the area!!! Thats is more than I thought.

It would be ashamed if we didnt have a meeting spot at the end.

I do hope SRRC considers sponsoring the tent at this event. I think its well worth the effort.

I'm willing to chip in - to have the support of my community to go back to after the race would be awesome for a first timer :) As long as the beverages include Miller Lite, I'm in!

What is it with these Miller Lite people?! You need to expand your horizons to good beer...or at least drink American (aka Budweiser)!

OK,lets just face it we would probably drink anything cold! Pinapple Rum blended with ice and Pinapple/Orange Crystal Light(save calories)is an awesome thirst quencher.Few thoughts for the Happy Hour!!

How about Rum "Runners"?

With this group, sounds like we'll have a party with or without the SRRC. Maybe we should start our own club!

If my injury doesn't cooperate with my training plan I may just have to sit in the tent and party while all you guys run. I'll just bring my lounge chair and catch some rays.

I'll keep your drinks cold, but I can't guarantee how many will be left!
