Yes, we ran today. Snow. What snow? I tried to convince folks to run Sunday, but hey, when you show up, you want to run. So we did.
I would say the Half Wits name is very appropriate. I am sure some of those people in the cars we passed were saying that we were a bunch of Half (or maybe dim) Wits.
Great job to everyone. That is a tremendous accomplishment. For many people today was the longest they had ever run. If you can run 9 miles in that kind of weather, you can do anything! A 1/2 marathon is a piece of cake.
For anyone who did not run today, please feel free to run this route on Sunday. I will put water at Fit Club West on the bench by the entrance. I will also meet anyone who is running at Panera at 7:30 a.m. to make sure you know the route or if you need to drop off your shirt form, etc...
Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions.

I've seriously neglected this blog for no reason other than I haven't made
the time to sit down and compose something. Which is kind of sad because

Today we went from Half Wits to Totally Nuts. Yeah, that was the longest distance I've ever run, and it felt great.
Except for the really really wet shoes.
Running in the blizzard did make me long for the nice warm days we had during Abe's Army last summer. But it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.
My first 9 miles, my first running in the snow...how appropriate to be called a Half Wit.
I enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks to everyone that showed up I know I would not of did this by myself.
Like Barry said, I was longing for those nice warm Abe's Army days. I opted to go to Washington Park where there was less traffic. Still slippery and a lot of wind and snow, but the trees were so beautiful! 9 miles is the longest I've ever run. Such a sense of accomplishment.
Today was nuts! First time I've done nine in the last ten years. I thought I'd be laid up on the couch all day today, but it hasn't been that bad. Tomorrow morning might be another story. Thanks to the group for making it possible!

you know, you're all right. It was awesome. I've never run 9 miles, never have run in the snow, and never have felt such an integral part of a running family. Thanks for everyone's supports and words of encouragement. I thought I'd be so sore, but as the day goes on I feel better and better! See y'all Tuesday!
