The Springfield Road Runners Club does much more than just putting on area races.
One of the things the club does to support our local student-athletes is to annually recognize the area's top high school cross country runners, as well as donating some money to those athlete's running programs.
Today's State Journal Register sports section highlighted this year's award winners.
Jim Ruppert, the SJ-R Sports Editor, and his team of reporters have done a great job covering the running sports in our community and once again the SRRC gets some good coverage in the paper.

I live just down the street from Anna Newell and have seen her out running regularly. She's an awesome runner. Congratulations Anna.
